Hello Ann , I don't know why you have so much animosity towards me but yes , I own one of the largest re-issue labels in the USA and everything on my label is LEGIT. Silver-pressed and cdr's , doesn't matter because I have contracts and permission from every band on the label so let's stop that discussion right there.
Tuff Luck , here's why it's not a boot (according to very reliable sources).....Tuff Luck re-recorded the entire album in 1997. You own the recordings from 1987 but you do not own the rights of the re-recorded material (including bonus tracks) from the 1997 sessions and ultimately the 1998 Conquest release.
If you DO have a problem with the 1998 release then why don't you either
1) Sue the band or Conquest Music (good luck)
2) Re-release it yourself and pay the band what they have earned.
3) Release the rights to the band so they can do what they want with it.

Ann , to stop booters its really simple , re-release the rarities officially. Forget bands like PostMortem and concentrate on Amulance , VVSI , Screamer , Pretty Vacant etc... I think you're spending too much time worrying about boots and neglecting the bands who I know would like to see some money for their hard work.
Fans will buy official cd's before boots so re-release the good stuff and sell it for like $12.99.

Vegas why if you are legit, why did a member of Sweet Teaze come and and say that you were NEVER give permission to release thier cd and then you pulled it off of e-bay?

Yes the best way to stop bootlegs are for re-issues, with permission of the band and or label.

You don't know the story behind Sweet Teaze so I suggest you keep your mouth shut until you know the facts instead of a bunch of bullshit hearsay. It was your friends over at HH who started this shit and I'm not interested in discussing it.

Rex does make a good point. Ann , what is the problem here? 1,000 units costs $1250 nowadays. I cannot believe you don't have a few grand to re-issue some bands who would like to see some royalties.

There has been talk amongst the NRR bands that you haven't paid the bands any royalties for many moons , I hope this is not true Ann. As a respected musician you ought to keep your integrity when it comes to the paying of bands. EVERY band on Retrospect gets paid more than what I take , and that's the way it should ALWAYS be.

But anyhow , I'm serious Ann. I'll front the production costs so you don't have to fork out a dime if you license some titles (like VVSI , King Kobra) out to me. I'll make sure everyone gets paid.

You are way off-base man. There was a huge mix-up on the Sweet Teaze release and I'm certainly not going to discuss details with you. I have contacted Sweet Teaze and given them my side of the story , they are free to contact me whenever necessary.
Secondly , I press 1,000 units of bands I believe will sell that much or specifically request it. I do 100 units of bands that may have difficulties selling more than that.
There is quite a difference in the investment and you're just going to have to deal with it. The bands know exactly what their options are.
Retrospect Records is a force to be reckoned with in the AOR / Hard Rock market and thats why so many bands are signing with me. They get the best royalty rates and worldwide distro. Herman Rarebell , Ron Keel , Stranger , Mariah...etc.....they all realize that Retrospect is finally a label ran by a musician for musicians and we'll see many more artists switch to the label for those reasons.

I certainly don't need to explain to you. I have emailed my side of the story to Sweet Teaze. I did nothing intentionally wrong ... I know it and they know that so that's all you have to know.

I own the licences to all my releases and I can prove it , that's all that matters. I have sold hundreds of discs and nobody has EVER asked for a refund or been unhappy with the quality. So now what do you have to say?

you are incorrect once again. The Russian cd's are LEGAL to sell once they have been opened and are used items so your argument is null and void. I go to Moscow , pick up a few cd's , listen to them and then decide I don't want them anymore. It is perfectly legal to sell them as used thankyou very much. Learn your laws.
Again , there was a screw-up with the Sweet Teaze release (actually it was a set-up / frame job) and until it is cleared up and/or they sign a legitimate agreement with me, I will no longer be selling them. Get over it.
All my eBay customers are extremely happy with my service and products which is why I have a 99.9% positive rating so I guess that makes another of your points null and void doesn't it?

You are only allowed to bring in a small amount for personal use, since you are in the business of selling, and do sell multi-able cds, from the bands, and albums, I do not believe the Government sees it the same way. There are tariffs, and to constantly be selling you would have to pay them. Also are you paying taxes to the IRS from your Ebay auctions over the last few years?

Let's see you some how mastered a cd, printed a cd, and sold a cd with out having a contract from the band (and from what it sound like even spoken tom the band), and that was a set-up? What for the band to get a hold of you?
